SITE STUDIO ADMIN PANEL GUIDE

 

Admin Panel Introduction

SiteStudio Admin Panel is available for the owners of stand-alone SiteStudio.

You can navigate it through the top menu and controls in the users table. The top menu options help managing regular users, resellers, gone users and user plans. Here you can also change your password and update your license agreement. You can log into and log out of user's website builders from the Admin Panel.

Logging into Admin Panel

  1. Start Site Studio.
  2. Access Site Studio Admin Panel at http://<YourHostName>:8080/servlet/psoft.masonry.Admin.
  3. Enter login and password in the form that shows. (Default login/password is admin/admin. Make sure to change it after the first use!).

Managing Regular Users

Once you are logged into the Admin Panel, you can view and manage your regular users by clicking the Regular Users icon in the top menu. You will see the details of the existing users.

  • User identifier (id)
    Use the default value. Optionally, enter your own digital number.
  • Login
    SiteStudio user login name.
  • Real login
    FTP login to the site.
  • Password (pass)
    FTP password to the site.
  • E-mail
    User's e-mail (reserved for future versions of SiteStudio).
  • Dir
    Path to the site ended with (/) should coincide with the path that sends the pwd command via FTP to the folder where index.html file is stored.
  • Host
    Website URL (e.g. http://www.yourdomain.com/) should end with a slash (/).
  • Server
    FTP server of the site. If site is hosted on the same box with SiteStudio, it is 127.0.0.1 or "localhost". Usually, it's a domain name of user site.
  • Port
    The port to log into the FTP server (usually it's port 21).
  • Plan
    The name of previously defined user plan (see User Plans for details).
  • Action
    Clicking the icons in this section allows the admin to:
    Update user infomation
    Delete user.
    Move/copy website to another user. (Be carefull, it will override existing website!)
    log into the user's SiteStudio

Other controls:

  • Search users by filling in one or more search parameters in the topmost Search line and press this button. You will get a list of all found users that meet your request. This function allows to find all users that use non-standard ftp port (21).
  • Create a new user by filing in blank fields in the user table.
  • Small question icon in each column gives a little hint about this column.
  • Clicking this arrow icon allows to stretch/shrink this column. Use it if you want to see "long" field content (such as host).

If users are listed on several pages, you can switch between them using links at the bottom of each page.

Under the list of users, you can see the information about the last performed operation and a number of your regular users.

You should be logged into the Admin Panel to perform the operations below.

Adding a New User

  1. Press the Regular Users icon in the top menu.
  2. Fill in the last empty string with a new user info. Use hints for more info.
  3. Click at the end of this line.
  4. New user appears in the list.

Changing User Information

  1. On the Regular Users page find the user you want to edit.
  2. Change user info in the textboxes. Use hints for more info.
  3. Press button in the Action section to update user information/preserve changes.

Deleting Users

  1. On the Regular Users page find the user you want to delete.
  2. Click to delete the chosen user.
  3. On the warning message click YES to confirm that you really want to delete this user.
  4. User is deleted. If he has his website left, he is moved to the table of Gone Users (see Gone Users for details).

Managing Resellers

As an administrator, you can manage existing and add new resellers by clicking the Resellers icon in the top menu.

  • Reseller identifier (id)
    Use the default value. Optionally, enter your own digital number.
  • Login
    Reseller's login name.
  • Password (pass)
    FTP password to the site.
  • E-mail
    Reseller's e-mail.
  • Max_users
    Maximum number of users the reseller is allowed to create.
  • Action
    Clicking the icons in this section allows the admin to:
    Edit reseller infomation.
    Update reseller infomation after editing it. It will save all changes.
    Delete reseller.
    Log into the reseller's account.

Other controls:

You should be logged into the SiteStudio Admin Panel as admin to perform the following operations.

Adding a New Reseller

  1. Click the Resellers icon in the top menu.
  2. Fill in the last empty string with a new reseller's info. Use hints if needed.
  3. Click at the end of this line to add a reseller.
  4. New reseller appears in the list

Changing Reseller Information

  1. Press Resellers button on the top panel.
  2. On the Resellers page find the user you want to edit using the search utility.
  3. Click next to the reseller and its entry becomes editable.
  4. Make all necessary changes in textboxes. Use hints for more info.
  5. Press in the Action section to update reseller information and save changes.

Deleting Resellers

  1. Click the Resellers icon in the top menu.
  2. Find the reseller you want to delete (use the Search utility if needed).
  3. Click in the right corner of the line with desired reseller's name.
  4. On the warning message click YES to confirm that you really want to delete this reseller.

Managing User Plans

User Plan is a certain set of rules for users: it indicates a kind of website to be created: Personal or Business and a type and number of pages allowed to add.

To view existing and create new user plans, click the User Plans icon on the top panel. It will show plan details: Plan ID and Plan Name.

In the Action section you can do the following:

Edit plan infomation. In this case you will see the Plan creation form that can be edited.
Delete plan.
Add new plan.

When you edit plan, you can specify or change:

  • Plan identifier (id): use the default value or set your own digital number.
  • Plan name: set or change plan name.
  • Maximum allowed pages: a total number of pages your users are allowed to create under this plan.
  • Disallow: you can restrict users from creating particular website type (Small Business or Personal).
  • Page Limit: set limitation for each webpage type.

At the bottom of the page you can click to Save or Reset all input data.

You should be logged into the Admin Panel to perform the operations below.

Creating a New Plan

  1. Click the User Plans icon in the top menu.
  2. Click at the bottom of the page.
  3. On the page that appears, enter new plan information: Plan ID, Plan Name and maximum allowed pages for this plan.
  4. Optionally, disallow users under this plan to create particular site type (Small Business or Personal).
  5. Set the page limits for each website type. Note: this field is obligatory!
  6. Specify page limits for each page type.
  7. Click at the bottom of the page to save input information.
    Note: You can reset all data by clicking the Reset icon at the bottom of the page.

Changing User Plan

  1. Click the User Plans button in the top menu.
  2. Press in the Action section of the chosen plan.
  3. On the page that appears, change all information needed.
  4. Press at the bottom of the page to save changes.
    Note: at any moment you can reset all data by clicking the Reset icon at the bottom of the page.

Once the changes are saved, you automatically return to the list of user plans.

Deleting User Plans

  1. Click the User Plans icon.
  2. Find the reseller you wan tot delete.
  3. Click in the reseller field.
    NOTE: You cannot delete a plan which is used by users (see Regular Users for details).

Gone Users

Gone users are those that stopped using SiteStudio and were removed from Regular Users but their websites are still stored. As admin, you can view and manage gone users by clicking the Gone Users icon in the top menu.

You can see the the following details:

  • User ID
    Former user's identifier.
  • File
    Name of the SiteStudio file that contains user's site.
  • Action Clicking the icons in this section allows the admin to:
    Move/Copy website. You can move website to another user.
    Delete website. By doing so you will remove the website permanently.

Changing Password

As admin, you are highly recommended to change password after the first login. Later on you might want to change admin password for security reasons.

You can change password by clicking the Change Password icon on the top panel. You will see a form asking you to enter your old password, new password and confirm the new password again.

Note: A good password consists of at least 5 symbols without any meaning. Avoid using your name, date of birth or other, easy to guess values.

License Information

The License INFO option allows you to enter your SiteStudio License agreement.

You should previously copy and then paste your License Certificate (full text, not only 32 symbols of key) into the textbox and click the Update button.
